Motivation

While the U.S. may want you to think that its defense of Israel comes from a morally righteous place, there is insurmountable evidence to prove otherwise. According to Dr. Hatem Bazian, a decolonial Islamic scholar, the U.S.’s defense of Israel is motivated by the desire to control the Middle East/West Asia and the lands’ rich natural resources, as this region contains the bulk of the planet’s oil which is quite literally the fuel for modern economies.

It is made clear through Dr. Bazian’s speech that the United States maintains a foothold in the Middle East through its partnership with Israel. The existence of Israel was not about Jews, it was about Zionists establishing a Western outpost/colony in the Levant – one of the most strategic geographic places on the planet. Jews were used as a front to justify the existence of said colony because it was convenient. As current president Joseph Biden once said in a speech of his in 1986, “Were there not an Israel, the United States would have to invent an Israel to protect her interests in the region.” The Western governments try to hide their Antisemitism by supporting Israel, but still shows. In this way, the West (but mostly the United States) pretends to play the role of a mediator while they in reality are instrumentalizing Antisemitism and Islamophobia – manipulating minorities, and funding both sides to line their pockets and reap all the benefits of this divide and conquer, which they then use to overfund the military so that the cycle continues.
